George Clooney’s new movie, “The Ides of March” tells the story of a presidential hopeful who invites a scandal and is caught by a campaign deputy, who leverages his career with his silence. After a long day of GOP hopeful Herman Cain bumping against the facts of a harassment case which should be familiar to him, he is probably longing that the allegations were all just scenes from a movie. No such luck.

Home for the holidays? But what will that mean for tens of thousands of U.S. soldiers who are due to leave the military this winter, and must fall in line behind 14 million other Americans who are out of work? Barack Obama’s strategy team is probably interested in capturing all of the December welcome home videos for his campaign spots this Summer! Will the images be of soldiers forming a line of love and gratitude? Or of U.S. vets forming a line at the Unemployment Office?

The media is running with the story, but truthfully, only one man, one blogger, has written that Michele Bachmann should leave the presidential race and throw her support to another candidate. Bachmann seems intent on fighting through Iowa, despite low poll numbers. Is Bachmann the one who really needs to step aside? Or should Primary voters decide?

A radical new approach to health insurance. Wal-Mart says it will require employees who smoke to pay a larger share of their health insurance premiums. Life insurers have been charging you more if you smoke or drink or have a dangerous occupation for a long time. Now Wal-Mart says it can’t keep shouldering all the health care insurance costs for part-time workers, smokers, and even full-time workers.
