Drumbeat For Impending Candidacy of Paul Ryan? He says “NO.”
August 22, 2011

Paul Ryan : The Next Presidential Candidate for 2012?

Late today Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan put to rest the wishful rumors that he might become the inspirational new GOP candidate to jump into the race for president.

“I sincerely appreciate the support from those eager to chart a brighter future for the next generation. While humbled by the encouragement, I have not changed my mind, and therefore I am not seeking our party’s nomination for president,” Ryan said in a statement released by his office.

Even so, there are continuing hints that the Republican field for president in 2012 could expand.  GOP leaders obviously feel that the current field may not be strong enough to challenge President Obama.  With a deeper agenda of liberal legislation and executive orders flying from the White House every day, Republicans are more hungry than ever to find not only a qualified candidate, but an inspirational one.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is still considered the frontrunner, but many still find ways to question his conservative credentials.  Michele Bachmann answers the call for conservatism, but could she win a national election when the country is generally considered to be more to the center?

That’s why the talent hunt.  Chris Christy in New Jersey is definitely being courted, but Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is the youthful, budget-crunching, articulate family man who could shake up the field.  MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the upcoming Republican presidential debates:
