Here’s The Morning Mix For Wednesday, September 28, 2011
Behind The Scenes at The Florida Straw Poll: All the top tier candidates came in for the debate, but Herman Cain stayed and gave a rousing Americana speech which Florida Cabinet members tell us pushed the CEO over the top in the Straw Poll. Rick Perry was the big loser in Florida because he apparently spent a fortune throwing a breakfast for straw poll voters, and spent a lot of time in advance of the poll….and was trounced. Mitt Romney did nothing and came away with the same vote Rick Perry received at around 15%. Perry’s struggling.
Turns out, Mrs. Anita Perry might have played a key role in Governor Perry’s stance on HPV vaccinations of young girls in Texas. Anita Perry is described by friends as “a nurse first, First Lady second.” She is longtime advocate for victims of sexual assault and a proponent of vaccinations. According to The New York Times today, Anita Perry’s name pops up in a series of e-mails obtained by Politico.com from state correspondence ABOUT the HPV vaccination decision.
No one except a few dogged members of the media were surprised that Chris Christy said “No” again. Let’s cut to the chase: No candidate will be perfect. No candidate ever has been. We are lucky someone with the resume of Mitt Romney is WILLING to run, same with Herman Cain, Rick Perry brings experience to the stage as well. Let’s not let the liberal media decide where the GOP puts its emphasis…..
Glenn Beck is buying ads now on FOX News to promote his own channel, GBTV. Is this a good sign that he can afford spots? Or a sign that his audience from FOX still needs luring to his pioneering digital effort? If you’re watching, let us know.
The new Zogby Poll puts CAIN on top at 28%, Rick Perry at 18%, Mitt Romney at 17% and Ron Paul at 11%. The poll was conducted BEFORE the Florida debate, which is interesting. Perry should be the most concerned, he debuted at 41% and just keeps falling. Michele Bachmann the same, she registered only 4% support in this poll, which by the way, is not as respected as some.
Andy Rooney will make his final appearance on 60 Minutes this Sunday. He is 92. Rooney is one of FEW broadcasters who will truly be missed…….He has been commenting on CBS since 1978.
British Prime Minister David Cameron pointed a finger at President Obama today saying in a speech to Canadians that , “Western politicians must show more “leadership” and warned that political indecision would only worsen the crisis.” Economists say that Europe and U.S. leaders have weeks not months to settle on a strategy to save Grace, or the entire world economy could be rocked.
Michael Reagan: “My dad might be too moderate for today’s GOP.” He could be right.
Sarah and Todd Palin may sue Random House for the malicious book recently released by Joe McGinnis which skewers the Palin family saying, “Since both your company, and the author, clearly knew the statements were false, admitted they had no basis in fact or reality, but decided to publish in order to harm Governor Palin’s family, you and Mr. McGinniss have defamed the Palins.” Sarah Palin is not afraid of calling a kettle black.
Remember Obama’s passionate plea to PASS his American Jobs Bill? Not only has the bill not been passed, the President can’t find anyone on his side of the aisle to put their name on it and introduce it! Harry Reid introduced the bill in the Senate, but it is still floating like a paper sailboat. Reid says he’d rather take a vacation than try to stump for the Obama bill.
