Obama visiting the West Coast this week on an $8 million campaign swing. That’s RAISING $8 million, not spending it like he does in Washington. Biggest challenge of the President’s visit? His limo procession shuts down Sunset Boulevard for miles and causes an enormous L.A. traffic jam every single trip.
Gas prices dropped 8 cents last week did you notice? The Huffington Post reports this morning that gas prices could drop as much as FIFTY CENTS, well under $3 by next June. HOW DO THEY KNOW THAT NOW?
Catch a seat on the new “Dreamliner” 787 going on line from Boeing. It will give you a better view out the window, airplane lighting on dimmers, and the plane will get more miles to the gallon. Will that translate to cheaper fares for you and I? Sorry…….but you might feel better while flying….
Senator Mark Warner of Virginia “The Tea Party is making every vote a “make or break.” Warner feels this is not necessary and obstructionist. Senator Warner….every dollar we spend as a country right now COULD make or break us…..
Michigan Straw Poll: Romney’s secret weapon over the weekend? His wife Ann. Mitt Romney trounced Perry with 50% of the votes to Perry’s 17%. Ann Romney, helped the former Governor flipping pancakes at a successful campaign event. The MS and breast cancer survivor will become a pivotal asset in weeks to come as voters discover her. Ann Romney was a favorite of all the other WIVES of GOP candidates in 2008.
Florida “CPAC” Poll: Hermain Cain surprised Rick Perry in this poll with 37% of the vote compared to Perry and Romney both under 20%. This gives Cain bragging rights in the Sunshine State, but not much else. Cain says his tax plan helped push him over the top, and he thinks Perry is hurting himself “not in terms of what he said, but how he said it.” says Cain.
Donald Trump will break bread with Mitt Romney today …the two businessmen should have a bit more in common than most as long as they stay away from….marriage (s)! Ron Paul will also be visiting New York, but to take his place on the “The Daily Show.”
IT’S FUN TO BE QUEEN….Queen Elizabeth has no intention of stepping down, according to a new book coming out in Great Britian. Prince William gave a fun interview to the British press revealing that the Queen insisted upon his wedding wardrobe. She however allowed the Prince and Kate to trim up the wedding invitations by almost a thousand…but simply cutting out all the dignitaries. “Start with your friends and then go from there.” said the Queen. Great grandmother. Prince William, nervous on his wedding day, forgot to take the handbrake off when departing in his father’s sports car with his new bride…..
Congress fighting over “disaster relief ” which is almost funny, as THEY are our biggest disaster. The House wants to CUT disaster spending overall and offset with tax cuts what money they do appropriate to refill the bank accounts of FEMA. Senate Democrats just want to spend the money and get it over with. They’ll settle by Friday, because MONDAY IS A HOLIDAY. Remember when we didn’t have government agencies to save us and neighbors just pulled together?
Finally…..how do you cut costs in Iraq? The Great Iraq Humvee GiveAway! The U.S. Army will leave hundreds and hundreds of vehicles, tanks, people movers in Iraq and 39 military bases well-equipped, because it will be cheaper for taxpayers than shipping everything home! That’s cost-cutting we guess….it just doesn’t feel like it!
