Karen Smith received a special distinction this week.  Aside from being a fantastic wife, mother, hairdresser, small businesswoman, and passionate supporter of her boys’ baseball career, she has been selected from an enormous and talented field of Little League Moms to be National Little League Mother of The Year!

If you have ever packed your SUV with equipment, hauled drinks and chips for 14 across a baseball field, or sat in the wind and the rain for hours in hopes of witnessing just ONE catch or hit, your heart will be with Karen Smith.  She makes the Fountain Valley, California Little League move like a well-oiled machine, and most importantly, her service in her community is building great young men.  Thanks Karen for your time and talents.  You represent thousands of women just like you all across America who are keeping a beloved tradition alive.
