Ideas That Hurt...Not Help The Economy

The White House has announced its intention to solve its homemade -mess of the economy by:  TAXING THE RICH.  President Obama is on the prowl for 1.3 trillion dollars and he isn’t picky.   There are 450,000 people in America who apparently make over one million a year, and the Obama’s strategy to SAVE 320 million Americans is to increase taxes on less than 1% of the country.

This is an idea that will seem clever to workers who are not listening.  A “soundbite” specialty of the White House.  IF ONLY IT WOULD WORK!

Americans making over one million dollars ARE after all,  the most evil among us.  Americans who have somehow worked to get their graduate degrees, have started a small business that didn’t fail, created a product Americans can use, doctors with 15 years of school loans who can save a life, and particularly people who make just enough to  start providing jobs for other people.  Instead of taking 40% of what these “building blocks” of society earn, TAKE MORE!  Do Democrats really believe that the salaries of of .03 percent of Americans  can  fill the  $15 trillion dollar ravine for all 320 million Americans?    Especially when only 58% of Americans today are working?

The price tag for this newest slice of “ObamaEconomics?”  More jobs will evaporate as small businessmen lose even more of the margin left after paying  40% in federal taxes, Worker’s Compensation, and all the other financial burdens waiting for anyone who builds a business.  These taxes are squeezed out of  gas stations, laundromats, photoshops, small dealerships, florist

Your Neighborhood Businesses Often Generate $1 Million A Year

shops, shoe stores, farm equipment retailers, neighborhood markets and other landmarks in our communities.  In other words, the folks who hire you, your teens, and your neighbors in your own neck of the woods.

Perhaps there is another route President Obama?

Why not trip over the constitution and tax ALL of the people in America equally?   Indeed, there are millionaires, hundred- millionaires, billionaires, and multi-billionaires who probably should be held to a simple standard:  A flat 15% of all earnings.  No deductions.    This would be true too, for new earners in their first job, who only make $800 a paycheck.  Shouldn’t they be pitching in a smaller percentage than they are?  Ask your college grad how much is pouring out of his or her first paychecks.  That’s usually when our kids start becoming….Conservatives!

Imagine the difference it would make when folks went to Target, or Sears, or a Ford dealership, knowing that the government wasn’t going to take everything extra they had.  It would jump -start the economy.  The perfect compliment to such a flat tax, would be to SLIM DOWN government.  Shut it down.  Do it online.  Give up micro-managing of education.  Nail shut the doors of the Environmental Protection Agency.  Hold the salaries of our national representatives in escrow until they come up with a massive re-organization and streamlining of the federal government.

The real secret of America’s much admired capital success was defined by John Adams two hundred years ago:  “The only promise of America is opportunity.”     In

Does Our Tax Code Resemble Our Founding Principles?

other words:  WORK for it.  Regardless of where you jumped off the Mayflower, regardless of your age or ability or education, regardless of where you have started, it is the promise of America for each person, every couple, and every family to define their own future by their own desires and ambitions.

A simple 15% Flat Tax is easy to levy, easy to understand, and equitable for most Americans.  Those in school or at poverty level, can seek accommodations.  Not eternal waivers, but accommodations.

The only entitlement in America should be for Seniors.  Churches and non-profits should be empowered and funded by the government and charity to assist the young.  The government, however  should relinquish the role of REPLACING the American family.

The patience of the American people is waning.  Too much spending, too many promises of cleaning up bad practices, and too little results.  Worse, reporters are uncovering more everyday about abuses, fraud and handouts from the Hope and Change team from its own billionaire donors.  Solyndra, LightSquared, and others that don’t yet have names.  More and more voters are counting the minutes and the months until November 2012.   Only 14 months until taxpayers and businesses will able to breathe more freely, reverse Obamacare, and try to find new ways to throw a wrench in the federal printing press.

And…..don’t let the constitution hit you on your way out.
