A Cold Day In…….July
July 26, 2011
Who do you believe? President Obama’s version of the economy or Speaker of the House John Boehner? On national television last night both told Americans that our very way of life is swinging in the balance over budget cutback talks and debt ceiling explosions.
We learn more by what they didn’t say, than by what they did say.
President Obama declared war on Monday night against taxpayers who make $250,000 and up, claiming that the “rich” should help out more!
Mr. President, a high school assistant principal and an accountant with a small practice can make $250,000 a year today. At current tax rates, such members of the evil “rich” ruling class are lucky to live a simple middle class life. Perhaps the President has been autographing books so long that he can’t remember what it’s like to have a two-career family without drivers, jets and free postage.
In his address to the nation, President Obama promised Americans that food inspectors, social security checks and Medicaid would be disrupted if Republicans continue to refuse to compromise and agree to raise taxes. Not once did the President mention the hundreds of millions of dollars that he lavished on the nation’s auto workers at General Motors…all unplanned tax dollars. Nor did the President accept any accountability for the billions in “stimulus” money which was doled out as gifts around the country to supposedly create jobs. Instead of creating jobs, the money carefully crop-dusted over communities where much-needed 2012 votes will be harvested.
Speaker Boehner was direct and made it clear that Republicans are insisting on deep budget cuts, even if it hurts. What Boehner failed to say is how much pressure Republican congressional leaders are under to deliver what Tea Party voters are demanding in a balanced budget. Republicans on the Hill are mighty nervous that they could all be out of a jobs if they DON’T fiercely oppose Obama on tax increases of any kind. Even if Boehner wanted to be a team player with the President, he couldn’t do it. It truly is a battle over two different versions of America.
No matter how you look it, we’re all looking at politics as usual.

The president is not the only one,nor are the Democrats the only responsible party for all of the financial upheaval facing this nation. The reason the Republicans are so nervous is because they had control in Washington a few years ago and they proved to be JUST AS ineffective to bring America’s economy under control then as even now.I received a newsletter from Senator Lindsey Graham a few days ago where he said he proposed legislation back in 1995 when he was in the House of Representatives a balanced budget bill then. The Republicans had control of both houses if I remember right at that time,so why didn’t we get a balanced budget bill passed? Al parties have “crop dusted” to get the vote they needed to get re-elected. And remember it was a Republican president and his administration that urged the stimulus package. I’m not favoring one over the other, but ALL of these “politicians” have proven that they need to brought back to their respective states and let their offices be given to someone who will stand up for US ,the American people!
