Do moderators take sides? For an instant, it felt so.
Didn’t YOU think it was odd? That after weeks of speculation regarding the President’s deliberately ambiguous comments about Libya, that suddenly in front of 60 million viewers both CANDY CROWLEY and PRESIDENT OBAMA simultaneously knew that President Obama used the word “terror” the day after our Consulate in Libya was attacked? In the Rose Garden?
We have faith that Candy Crowley is a wonderful correspondent and that she did her homework for this debate. She also tried to keep a harness on two giant national personalities throughout a difficult debate. But her
Candy Crowley “interrupts.”
interruption during the most sensitive and damning question for the President, was awkward and out of place. How well-prepared she was, and rapidly she “deployed” on this obviously dangerous subject for the President, left us…concerned.
Consider:
1-Nowhere in the national media, liberal of conservative, has there been any discussion or debate over WHETHER the President told the truth from the outset! That he identified the Libyan attack as a “terrorist attack” from day one.

2-Candy Crowley had control over who received which question…when. She elected to give the President the first crack at the Libyan question. How might the issue have played if MITT ROMNEY had been able to set the table on that question and answer FIRST? And then have a REBUTTAL?
3-Instead, Candy Crowley came to Romney to follow-up, and THEN ultimately interrupted him. As a matter of fact, BOTH the President and Candy Crowley interrupted the Governor. Both launched an entirely new THEORY that the President had indeed used the word “terror” the day following the attack. As if that closed the subject!

4-When Governor Romney challenged the President, in an effort to make a record that Obama now claimed to have used the word “terror,” the President of the United States dared to disrespect Governor Romney by ordering him to “PLEASE PROCEED, Governor.” Corrected by Crowley and slammed by the President, Romney was astonished. (Incidentally…did you note how visibly the President responded to being challenged?)
5-Crowley also permitted the President to FOLLOW-UP Mitt Romney’s response with a softball. “What about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s statement that SHE takes responsibility?” This positioned President Obama to show his courage and willingness to accept responsibility and own this sad moment. Clinton conveniently made the statement IN PERU, out of the reach of most members of the media, just in time for the debate. And for Governor Romney? His attempt to hold the President accountable was now SANDWICHED between not one, but two opportunities for Obama to craft a NEW record.
What WAS Crowley Thinking?
6-Finally, we ran OUT OF TIME! On the most important question of the debate, Candy Crowley shut down any further opportunity for Mitt Romney to provide rebuttal…because we’re on a schedule…..
Was this choreographed?
SOME OF IT. In undoubtedly appropriate or inappropriate ways, Crowley was fed this version of the President’s story. In the newsroom, by news execs, by The White House, by forwarded e-mails….or even more direct methods. Because this is how national news and The White House “collaborate” today. If you are Candy Crowley, you are caught in a vice grip. She has her own show. She, like Martha Raddatz, is a women grateful to have a high-visibility job in a tough economic time in broadcast news. Doing a “good job” is as much about pleasing the boss, as it is about being a newswoman. And CNN brass’s? They’re on the Obama squad.
Lots of pressure if you’re a woman on a network…and trying to stay there.
One thing is certain. Candy Crowley gave the President a platform of safety.
This was not casually decided.
Following the debate, Candy Crowley hit the airwaves on CNN eager to explain and forthrightly admitting that she did not speak clearly on the Libyan question and disadvantaged Governor Romney. She admitted that she was “just trying to move things along.”
ARE YOU KIDDING?
More worrisome, Candy Crowley’s most candid remarks following the debate have been withdrawn. She appeared this morning on CNN’s “Early Start” news program, ten minutes after a solid battering of Mitt Romney’s performance in the debate. But her story was different now. No apologies. No explanations. Her statement was polished up, and she shared with everyone that the President’s comments in the Rose Garden about “terror” she had shared before.
This, left out the night before.
Romney and Obama held their own.
We’re not big on conspiracies at The Kitchen Cabinet. But we know that Al Qaeda is not the only enemy of the American people in this age.
The major news media is doing a pretty good job of it…too.

She blatently was for the president getting the tough questions first and even helped with some answers. I wonder if they did their homework together?
As moderator she had no right to comment one way or the other. That was the candidates responsibility. She could have said something about moving along but not a direct comment to help bale Obama out of that situation.

Candy Crowley is on the obama team and will do and say anything to keep him from losing face to Romney! She interfered with the debate and totally lied the following am as to the ‘terrorist’ question. I read a news article that said obama out right told our ambassador NO when he requested help. Hillary was not able to give him any help as that had to be authorized by the president who had already said no.
Why did the president say NO? Because he sent the Muslim Brotherhood a government check in the amount of $1.5 million dollars to pay for the destroying of our diplomat and Marines in Libya! This is High Treason against the USA! obama needs to be impeach, arrested and tried for high treason and sentenced to death as that is the only acceptable penalty for his crimes against The United States of America!
Candy Crowley was a disgrace. Moderators are supposed to do just that in an impartial manner. The American public continues to be misled by the underhanded manipulative media. She was annoying and undeserving of the position of moderator. She should be sent to time out for bad behavior !!

I so agree- this is treason and that is why they are covering up. I pray this will not be allowed to go away. I also know Americans are not ignorant and the talking-heads may say one thing but intelligent people who watched this debate KNOW it was fixed, only the Moderator is not as good at bald-faced lying as Obama is. This man is evil and trying to excise all our freedoms. The very idea we are sending funds to the very same people who killed our statesmen is ludicrous.
The inability to take responsibility is such a turn off. Mitt Romney was uninformed. His debate coach apparently failed to tell hin that the president did indeed use the word terror. He got himself in this position by challenging the president and insisting that the president was lying. Saying please proceed to someone is the opposite of disrespect. The president was being polite an saying I am not going to argue with you over what I said when I know what I said. Romney made anidiot of himself. Romney and his followers not being able to take responsibility is the kind of things that continue to turn off Independents and moderates and will cost him votes at the poll. This twisted way of analyzing Romney’s error can only work for your base, people who would vote for Romney anyway. For whatever reason, Republicans continue to alienate the middle in order to feed the beast of a base. Your creating conspiracy where there is none is what will cause you to lose the election, and even then you won’t learn. You will continue to think that you lost because you were not lying enough, nasty enough, bullies enough, and crazy enough. How sad that you can not see that Romney was an uninformed lazy candidate and that this article does more in term of damage than Candy Crowley could have ever done.

As soon as Romney questioned him, he asked Candy what the transcript said. How did he know she had the transcript unless it was a set up? Not only did Hillary Clinton take the blame for him but now Crowley………..!
At the time very moment Obama told Crowley to “CHECK THE TRANSCRIPT” my husband and I stop the TVO, ran it back and watching Crowley scramble for the transcript.
Obama did not say that Benghazi WAS a terrorist attack, in fact the word ‘terror’ that was used was in reference to 9-11-2001.
There was collusion and we are, frankly, tired of it all.

The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. We’re
working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats. I’ve also directed my administration
to increase our security at diplomatic posts around the world. And make no mistake, we will work
with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.
Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all
efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.
But there is absolutely no justification for this type of senseless violence. None. The world must
stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts. Already many Libyans have joined us in
doing so, and this attack will not break the bonds between the United States and Libya. Libyan
security personnel fought back against the attackers alongside Americans. Libyans helped some
of our diplomats find safety, and they carried Ambassador Stevens’ body to the hospital, where
we tragically learned that he had tied.
It’s especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi because it is a city that he helped to save.
At the height of the Libyan revolution Chris led our diplomatic post in Benghazi. With characteristic
skill, courage and resolve he built partnerships with Libyan revolutionaries and helped them as they
planned to build a new Libya.
When the Qaddafi regime came to an end Chris was there to serve as our ambassador to the new
Libya, and he worked tirelessly to support this young democracy. And I think both Secretary
Clinton and I have relied deeply on his knowledge of the situation on the ground there.
He was a role model to all who worked with him and to the young diplomats who aspire to walk in
his footsteps.
Along with his colleagues, Chris died in a country that is still striving to emerge from the recent
experience of war. As (ph) today the loss of these four Americans is fresh, but our memories of
them linger on.
I have no doubt that their legacy will live on through the work that they did far from our shores and
in the hearts of those who loved them back home. Of course, yesterday was already a painful day
for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks. We mourn with the families
who were lost on that day. I visited the graves of troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq
and Afghanistan at the hallowed grounds of Arlington Cemetery, and had the opportunity to say
thank you and visit some of our wounded warriors at Walter Reed. And then last night we learned
the news of this attack in Benghazi.
As Americans let us never, ever forget that our freedom is only sustained because there are
people who are willing to fight for it, to stand up for it, and in some cases lay down their lives for it.
Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those, both civilian
and military, who represent us around the globe.
No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the
light of the values that we stand for.
Today we mourn for more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of
America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And
make no mistake, justice will be done.
But we also know that the lives these Americans led stand in stark contrast to those of their
attackers. These four Americans stood up for freedom and human dignity. They should give
every American great pride in the country that they served, and the hope that our flag represents
to people around the globe who also yearn to live in freedom and with dignity.
We grieve with their families, but let us carry on their memory and let us continue their work in
seeking a stronger America and a better world for all of our children.

Apparently you didn’t watch the same debate because what Mr. Romney was pointing out to Obama is that HE (obama) had said it was a terrorist attack in the Rose Garden, then turned around to everyone and tried to say it was a VIDEO (even to the UN days later). That was what ACTUALLY happened, but I know you have to try and spin it because YOUR president – not MINE – is a liar, a traitor, a muslim who supports one of the most dangerous terrorist groups in the world – the muslim brotherhood. He is ruining our country, trying to turn us into socialist and take money from people who have earned it on their own (or inherited it from family who have made it through their own work). And when did becoming successful become wrong. Obama is a millionaire, his wife spends American tax dollars on $7,000 jackets and a billion dollars so far on vacations (on our dime). The Conservative media HAS been discussing this issue since day one and demanded answers. The mainstream liberal media has not.
While Obama did use the word terror on Sept 12th in the Rose Garden press conference, it was used much later in his speech in a general context having nothing to do with Libya. Regardless, even if she was spot on and Obama had used the word terror in conjunction with Libya, she was still way out of bounds as a moderator to stand up for either candidate or respond to their questions. That was not her role regardless of her personal and professional experience. It was shocking and completely unacceptable. She should apologize publicly for her pathetic actions.

Then Obama stopped looked around because he knew he made a mistake by saying Hi Kerry…….Kerry stood up & Obama said what’s your Name?

For those who continue to side with the moderator and President obviously missed the very obvious…This part of the debate was a set up to undermine Mitt Romney. Obama won nothing nor did Candy Crowley other than to show just how low the Democratic and Liberal bia team is planning to go. They got caught! This entire Presidential election year has been nothing short of a one-sided media show, BUT the people have seen through it and now the mainstream media can’t go back. Mitt Romney and his team of supporters don’t have to use underhanded techniques to showcase Mr. Romney’s business sense and his rich intellectual history. President Obama has NO history that is discernable to anyone in America that he has shared before, during and thru his term and this election process. Democrats, Liberals and Independent voters are LEAPING over the political party lines to lend into the support system for Mitt Romney, despite the dirty, tyrannical tricks being thrown into this electoral process. I would love to leave a comment. First, it’s nice to know that there are still smart, inteligent people in this country who see right through obama and his lies, his decieit to the American people, to our wonderful country (before he bacame president). Sure, he’s a good speaker but he’s normally clueless as to what he is talking about. He promised hope and change and instead gave us major debt, unemployment, bailed out banks to help people keep their homes and lost them anyway because the banking people weren’t about to give up their bonus’, has catered to the Muslims, has made race problems worse, etc. Candy was certainly a poor choice as a moderator. obama’s behavior was shamefull but typical of his actions of the past four years. His wife has suddenly become an expert in nutrition and I was totally unaware that she had a degree or any background in that area. The majority of the media is doing its best to make obama look good which is not their job. I thought their job was to report the facts and they are incapable of doing that. obama is also quite charismatic along with being a good speaker who talks out of both sides of his mouth. He reminds me of another leader with similar qualities. I believe his name was A. Hitler. Remember him? Obviously obama does.
Doesn’t matter which candidate she was “aiding” with her comments. As soon as she crossed that line passed moderator, she should have been escorted off the stage and a replacement should have taken over. Period.
She’s just one more reason why I don’t watch CNN, period!
