Washington Needs To Change…But So Do We.
December 30, 2011

The mantra of our times, is “Change Washington.”  Stop The Spenders.  Fire Congress.  Taxpayers are justifiably betrayed by the steady diet of hand-outs and paybacks on Capitol Hill and a skyrocketing deficit of $15 Trillion dollars as a result.

We need to grease the revolving door in Congress, without question.  But voters need to maintain their awareness and not turn away from the mundane business of government IN BETWEEN elections.  Particularly women voters, who are so crucial now in determining the outcome of elections, must be able to speak with authority to Congress and The White House whether its campaign season or not.  The Kitchen Cabinet is assuming this role by assembling the top, tried and tested, national conservative women’s leaders to speak to Washington.

OUt...And Not A Moment Too Soon.

Newly-committed candidates who feel the heat of the Tea Party and the expectations of voters are bringing a new level of fiscal responsibility to Washington.  As they come in, and seat by seat voters are able to “retire” some of the more reckless spenders, the House and Senate chambers are changing.  Barney Frank for instance…is through.  Michelle Bachmann is digging in and brings a fine-toothed comb with her to work everyday.  The future of the GOP also looks bright with superstars like Congressman Paul Ryan, Senator Marco Rubio, Governor Chris Christy of New Jersey and Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico, are all on the rise.

Even so, regardless of the balance in Congress or how energized we are by the winners, it is time for a new level of accountability from THE PEOPLE.  A constant, vigilant, drumbeat of accountability which counters the influence of lobbyists, special interests with big wallets, and the tendency of our politicians to become too comfortable walking on marble.

The Painful Truth

Seldom is the electorate completely satisfied with this winner or that.  But once they’re elected, they are accountable.  From our cell phones, our e-mail accounts, with our public protests,  and even with our checkbooks, we must let congressmen, senators and presidents know that we have higher expectations now.   Relentlessly.

There is only one mission America taxpayers are sending to Washington these days, and that’s a direct order to reverse….direction.
