A Stormy Week For Herman Cain’s Campaign
November 2, 2011

A Silver Lining? Cain Awareness Is UP.

A silver lining in the clouds hovering over the Cain campaign this week, is that Herman Cain now has 100% name recognition!  His campaign has also seen a sudden flow of $400,000 arrive in his campaign war chest.  Not just a few of those dollars have come from Kitchen Cabinet women who reject the attacks and innuendo deliberately drudged up to slow down the fast track Herman Cain had suddenly enjoyed.

USA Today reports that the women involved in the complaints against the former

C.E. O. are taking different positions.  One has asked her lawyer to STOP talking to the press, the other has an attorney claiming that his client is disappointed that Herman Cain would characterize the allegations as untrue:

The New York Times reports one of Cain’s accusers received $35,000, a year’s salary, in severance pay after an incident with Cain that made her uncomfortable. The story said the incident came “in the context of a work outing during which there had been heavy drinking.”

Joel Bennett, the attorney for another Cain accuser, said last night that he plans to ask the National Restaurant Association to release his client from a confidentiality agreement so she can tell her story.

“She’s been very upset about this since the story broke…because Mr. Cain has been giving the impression she came out and made false

allegations,” Bennett said on CNN. “That’s certainly not true.”

Cain, who has maintained he was “falsely accused” of sexual harassment, told Fox News on Tuesday night that he’s not sure if he’ll ask the association to comply with Bennett’s request. He suggested there could be “legal implications,” and said he would consult with his lawyers.

At an event with high-tech executives in northern Virginia, Cain this morning referenced the controversy and discussed forces “out to destroy me and destroy this campaign.” He said that voters will ultimately decide his fate.

Cain will also deliver speech to the Congressional Health Caucus, and meet members of Congress — many of whom don’t really know the former pizza executive — on Capitol Hill.

Cain’s campaign said yesterday the candidate raised $400,000 on Monday, after the sexual harassment story broke in Politico.

“Americans are tired of dirty politics and are willing to commit their time, talent and treasure to help Mr. Cain turn this country around,” the campaign said in a statement Tuesday.”

  1. Do we forget about Clinton and his antics.  Everyone seems to have forgotten his faults.  Weither or not it’s true, what Cain is accused of happened many years ago.  We are talking about today and what we need today.  We need a leader like Herman Cain.  If he gets on the ticket, I will most certainly vote for him.

  2. To me this is nothing more then a smear campaign, and a predictable one at that. I have my personal opinions as to the actual people who are behind this attack. To me if in fact Mr.Cain is guilty in anyway shape or form of what his accuser is claiming he is…BIG DEAL!! It happened years ago according to the accuser…the case should closed and nothing more then said about it. And if this is all that can be dug up about Mr.Cain then by today’s standards he is a Saint. Mr.Clinton did far worse and while he was in office too!!! I myself see great potential in Mr.Cain. I do not see him using phony tactics or use of charisma to get attention as BO does. What I personally see is hope and from a straight ahead American loving man.

  3. Thanks Patricia..you are so right. We aren’t looking for a perfected leader….we are looking for an HONEST one. Sonja

  4. This has also made me more commited to Cain for president. The nebulousness of sexual harassment make it impossible to detect true sexual harassment. When my daughter was 8 and in face to face confession with our priest he came ot me and told me he told her she was beautiful and then second guessed himself fearful that it would be taken wrong. My daughter was beautiful it was just a staement of fact. I worked with a man that thought it was funny to place tacks on pictures or add penies to figures, I found this very offensive and others did to but no one accused him of sexual harassment instead we told him we didn’t like what he was doing. Then there was the 6 year old suspended from school for kissing a girl. Seriously where does this end? Are we not allowed to state a fact or compliment someone? This country has it all backwards. Clinton a then 51 year old man had sex with a 24 year old woman in the Oval office no less and they made it her fault and he kept his job. If your or i had sex at our work place on the employers dime we would be fired. Yet he gets a free pass? A 24 yr old may be an adult but that is still very young and impressionable especially to a father figure. Not even counting the other woman he had sex with or attempted to do so and every one thinks he was great??? Seriously totally backwards. The NOW association and others have an agenda they certainly have no respect for woman with actual claims of active sexual agression or harassment unless they dislike the person accused.
I am tired of this garbage they spout including that of the leftist media and shysters who are unfortunately running our country into the groud!
