Multi-Billionaire Warren Buffet, and I speak as someone who owns one of his Kirby vacuum cleaners, is a giant in industry and generous in many ways. I wish he was investing my 401-k!

Today, in this article from Politico.com, he offers to pay more taxes, and suggests that the rich in America ARE getting a free ride.

“While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan, and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet, we mega-rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks,” he wrote.

“These and other blessings are showered upon us by legislators in Washington who feel compelled to protect us, much as if we were spotted owls or some other endangered species. It’s nice to have friends in high places.”

Mr. Buffet, you’re quite right. The U.S. Tax Code is dreadfully out of balance and needs to be reformed so that more

dollars of the very rich are equally taxed instead of  stored off shore.  But why wait for that cold day when Congress will make such a change?  Democrats who feel that raising taxes is the solution to the country’s economic woes, should join Mr. Buffet and start paying more right away!  The IRS will probably be willing to set up a Drive-Thru!
