Obama Taxes And Dines With The Rich!
September 22, 2011
Grrrrrrr….President Obama speaking to a $40,000 a plate Democratic fundraising dinner this week in New York City….talked about how hard these times are on “ordinary folks” like those in this room. Are you kidding? There were no ordinary folks at a $2 million fundraiser! We were all at home seeing how far we could stretch a casserole! Not eating tender organic greens handpicked by the shore in Martha’s Vineyard.
“You’re already hearing the moans and groans from the other side about how we are engaging in class warfare and we’re being too populist and this and that and the other — all the usual scripts.” said Obama this past week after announcing his plan to increase taxes on the rich.
He added: “The fact you are present here tonight is something that is hugely encouraging to me.”
Doesn't Mention Tax Hikes on Rich at High-Dollar Fundraiser...
According to the Wall Street Journal, “Tickets to Monday’s [fundraising] dinner were $35,800 per person, with $5,000 going to the Obama campaign and the rest going to the Democratic National Committee. That’s the maximum contribution allowed by law.”
So it’s no wonder the president didn’t mention his plan to hike taxes on the rich!
Hours after delivering a White House speech that called on wealthy Americans to pay higher taxes, President Barack Obama dined with some of these very Americans in New York. He was expected to raise more than $2 million for his reelection campaign.
He didn’t mention his plan to tax the rich, at least not in front of reporters.
Instead, the president seemed to think he was speaking to “ordinary folks,” according to Politico:
Despite the well-heeled nature of the audience, Obama suggested at one point that the group was intimately familiar with the devastation caused by the economic downturn. “A lot of people in this room have seen directly the damage that’s been done by this recession,” the president said. “Ordinary folks have been hurting badly,” he added later in his remarks, before commenting on the unemployment rate and other “hardship.” I doubt there were ANY ordinary folks in that room……..talk about being out of touch.
Ordinary folks don’t have a penny to spare this year Mr. President, not for a fundraiser, a vacation, or even sometimes, a house payment.

This goes to show you that the people who paid $40,000 to attend deserve to be taxed to the hilt because instead of paying $40,000 a plate for themselves, they could have made $40,000 donations to help those who are in need. Plenty of Children’s Hospitals could have sure used that money to provide a child a much needed treatment or operation. Plenty of Seniors are doing without food and health care so they can put shelter over their heads. Plenty of Veterans are living on the street because they can’t find a job or are disabled. Plenty of people are homeless because the banks have foreclosed their homes, their unemployment benefits have run out and they can’t find a job! This is the arrogance and greed of aristocracy and the elite in the USA!
Isn’t that the truth !
