Obama Strategy According To Rove: Love The Middle Class
December 22, 2011

Obama: Always written and produced

Barack Obama has a flock of “handlers.”  He can’t make a move without them.  They craft his speeches with half a dozen”folks” in every message.  They decide when Michelle Obama will emerge publicly from The White House, and when she won’t.  They tell him when to call John Boehner, and when not.  Harry Reid is a handler.  Nancy Pelosi is a handler.  Rahm Emanuel, even from Chicago, is a handler.  Bill Clinton, John Podesta, Paul Begala, and all the other inside Clinton “folks.”  All handlers.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, thought SHE might get to be a handler, but in that crowd…she just chooses to travel.  What’s the use?  She had more power as FIRST LADY!!!!

This is also why the Obama White House is also a little schizophrenic.  Too many chefs in the kitchen.

This morning, Karl Rove spells out how all of these great minds along with top media strategists plan to save Obama’s presidency, and THEIR power in Washington.

Their plan?  Obama has to be the champion of the Middle Class!  That’s right!  Suddenly he will turn on his heel, ignore the demands of the gay lobby, the environmental lobby halting job creation, the Hollywood media crowd which…supports the gay and environmental lobbyists, and of course our culture of UNIONS.

And pretend that all he cares about is YOU.  Here in Karl Rove’s own words:

“This month, during a speech in Osawatomie, Kan., and in an interview on “60 Minutes,” President Barack Obama laid out the broad contours of his re-election strategy. Republicans would be wise to examine his words and prepare accordingly.

Mr. Obama will frame this election as a fight for the middle class. He told his Kansas audience that America was once a place where “hard work paid off, and responsibility was rewarded, and anyone could make it if they tried.” Now, as he informed “60 Minutes” correspondent Steve Kroft, “the rules are rigged” against “middle-class families.”

The A Team For Obama...John Podesta on the right from Clinton White House

The president’s tack is, in part, a reaction to his precarious standing among voters with high-school education or less. In a Gallup poll of Dec. 18, for example, his job approval with these voters—usually described as blue-collar workers—was 40%, down 26 points from January 2009. He can’t win if his numbers in this group stay so low.

Mr. Obama will make “fairness” a major theme. He declared in Kansas that his goal was to “restore balance, restore fairness,” and he then told Mr. Kroft that a “balanced approach” to the nation’s deficit crisis required “everybody to do their fair share.”

Obama Going To Be Your Champion If You're Middle Class..At Least For A Little While

But resentment is not an effective political appeal. Americans tolerate unequal outcomes if they believe people have equal opportunity. Crude class warfare like Mr. Obama’s has never been successful in presidential campaigns (consider candidates Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry). In fact, a Gallup poll of Nov. 28-Dec. 1 shows that fewer Americans (45%) now believe income inequality “represents a problem that needs to be fixed” than believed that in 1998 (52%).”

Read Rove’s entire piece.  It’s a primer in 2012 politics.

One Response to “Obama Strategy According To Rove: Love The Middle Class

  1. As if the middle class will believe ANYTHING he says – looking forward for him to stop catering to illegals and lose their vote – along with the labor unions, gays, abortionists, etc!! Wonder if he’ll actually take the muslim curtains down or place his hand over his heart for the Pledge of Allegance? The middle class isn’t stupid! This man has told so many lies even he doesn’t know where he stands anymore – except that he wants to completely destroy the US before he leaves office. Really wish people would wake up and smell the coffee!!
