The problem with Teamster leader Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. ?  He’s out of date.  Unions are going to have to re-shape or evaporate in the 21st century.  The old time relationship where big unions consistently overpowered corporations is history.  General Motors went under trying to bow to union demands attaching rich health benefits and retirement packages for its tens of thousands of employees to the price of every car.    The formula doesn’t work and NO ONE CAN AFFORD big union benefits packages any longer.

But Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. can’t keep his “guys” in line unless he can dangle such presents before them.  We’re at a crossroads.  It’s time to transform how we do business in America so that companies can be more competitive, and so that workers have JOBS.

One person who will never have that conversation with Hoffa?  BARACK OBAMA.  He will be desperate for guaranteed union votes and giant union political contributions in 2012.  Want to hear just how serious Jimmy Hoffa is about bullying elected officials?  Here, Hoffa threatens Ohio Governor John Kasich for not towing the line…..
