It was a SQUEAKER! Mitt Romney had to have woken up happy AND relieved this morning, but the real sunshine was pouring in through the windows of Rick Santorum’s room. In a remarkable finish, the man who had no money, no staff, and a borrowed pick-up truck, went nose-to-nose with frontrunner Mitt Romney. Here’s how he did it.

Interestingly, the first words of praise for Michele Bachmann today, as she announces the conclusion of her bid for the presidency, are from Mitt Romney:
Mitt Romney’s campaign just released a statement from the candidate on Michele Bachmann’s exit from the race:
“Ann and I salute Congresswoman Bachmann. She ran a campaign to advance the principles of limited government that I hold dear. Michele is a friend and a strong competitor. Her tenacity on the campaign trail and her fierce intelligence in the debates have left me no doubt that, as advertised, she does indeed have a titanium spine. Michele inspires millions of Americans by the way she has lived her life, raised her family and served her country. With leaders of her caliber coming up the ranks, the future of the Republican Party – and the future of the country – is bright.”

Edith Pfeffer and Carolyn Tallett of Clinton County, Iowa, decided the closest Caucus count in the history of the state. At about 1:00 a.m. Iowa time, they were woken up by campaigns, CNN and the state party in search of one missing precinct. But, the mistake was not in Clinton County. Edith and Carolyn had completed their patriotic duty perfectly…the numbers were simply not properly counted. In just minutes, Mitt Romney went from a tie….to a winner.

Sorry to be a little disenchanted with Iowa, but after months and months of hearing about Caucuses, watching a dozen debates in advance of the FIRST voter turn-out of 2012, and only 1/5th of the registered voters turned out? Surely you’re kidding! In a year when Barack Obama must go and 73% of all Americans know it, Iowans couldn’t turn off the TV and go to a PTA meeting and VOTE? More venting here……

Which horse are you betting on? Everybody loves a frontrunner, and Mitt Romney seems to have that surprising distinction in the faith and values state. But Romney faces not just one, but approximately four different opposition forces. He’s no shoe-in. The first battle of 2012 is measuring up to be a barn-burner.

Debbie Wasserman and her Democratic National Committee are coming for Mitt Romney in Iowa. Seeing his rise in the polls, and a real chance that he could win Iowa tomorrow, the Democrats are sending opposition teams to his events to try to stop his momentum. Today’s Boston Herald has the details.
How does this make Rick Santorum feel? Or Newt Gingrich? If the Democrats are this afraid of Romney, shouldn’t we ALL be forming a line behind him?

Comments Off on Democrats Landing In Iowa: Their Target Is Romney
With only hours to go before Iowans will be marching to the Caucuses, a respected Christian writer makes her case for NOT casting a vote for Rick Santorum, or any other candidate who can’t go the distance against Barack Obama. She reminds readers that Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, AND Barack Obama have all claimed to be “Christian” candidates. In these dire times, we need a Commander-in-Chief who knows his way to a prayer…and all FIVE candidates DO. SO who can give Obama the boot? Well worth reading and sharing. Especially if you have friends …in Iowa!

The presidential battle in Iowa is almost over. Latest polls tonight favor Mitt Romney. However, Evangelical voters came face to face with their pastors and leaders on New Year’s Sunday. Did they receive marching orders to defeat the frontrunner? Anything could happen, but here’s what the experts say WILL happen.

As difficult as it might be for spiritually-devoted Iowa Evangelical leaders to support a “Mormon,” they may have to give Mitt Romney a hard think before looking their congregations in the eye on New Year’s Day.
By NOT supporting Romney, the Evangelical community could become some of the best players on Obama’s team.
