MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Questions U.S. Drone Attack On Al Queda Terrorist

Thinking Twice About Terrorist Rights....

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reminds us WHY we don’t watch her.

This past week Maddow decided to spend a segment questioning whether it was appropriate for the U.S. government to take out known  terrorist, Americn-born Anwar al-Awlaki.  al-Awlaki was under surveillance by a U.S. drone which dropped a missile on his car immediately killing the Yemeni terrorist.

Over the past two years, Awlaki had been connected to three attacks against America. Officials say his emails inspired accused Fort Hood gunman Major Nidal Hasan. Awlaki helped plan the failed Underwear bomb attack, and was part of the plot to bring down cargo planes with explosives inside computer printers.    President Obama authorized a secret Justice Department memo authorizing the targeting of Awlaki because of his lead role in”planning and directing efforts to murder innocent Americans.”

The U.S. Has The Right To Protect Its Citizens Against Any Threat

Maddow questions the authority of the U.S. Government to make such an attack, and takes it to the next step, asking

“Can the United States government choose an American citizen to be executed without ever charging them with anything, without ever proving anything against them, without ever giving them a chance to defend themselves?” she wondered. “Whether or not you think it is deserved, under what authority did President Obama or could any president sign him up to be killed on sight?”

Maddow continues:   “If the US government can justify this action overseas, what about here in the US?”

The simple answer here is that Rachel Maddow should get a soda and sit down in her elegant NBC-supported apartment, and watch the video of 9-11 again.   It doesn’t matter WHERE the terrorists are residing, WHERE they are born, or WHAT they are planning.  If the United States government identifies an individual who is planning to, or has attacked innocent Americans, we have the right to defend ourselves from that individual.

And sometimes Rachel….many of us feel like we have to defend ourselves from you!
