“A competitive primary does not divide us, it prepares us, and we will win.” Mitt Romney
January 31, 2012

A Celebration Big Enough To Make Up For The Disappointment of 2008.

Mitt Romney looks like he will take Florida with a giant margin, leading at this hour with a 15% margin.  This is the conclusion to a much better dream than Romney’s finish in Florida in 2008, when even Ann Romney admitted “We had our butts handed to us in Florida!!!!”   But today, every segment of GOP voter turned for Mitt Romney.

“I stand ready to lead this party and to lead our nation,” Romney told cheering supporters in Tampa after his victory became clear.

With more than 5,000 of 6,796 precincts reporting, Romney had 47 percent of the vote, followed by 32 percent for Gingrich, 13 percent for Rick Santorum and 7 percent for Ron Paul.

Neither Santorum nor Paul seriously competed in the Sunshine State, a winner-take-all contest whose 50 delegates will go entirely to Romney.”

Newt Gingrich is speaking to a much smaller group of supporters than awaited the Romney celebration, but is promising to go the distance, to make a new “contract” with the People.  Gingrich says it’s time for a campaign of the people, not of money, and that if the People of America will link arms with him and help him win, he will transform Washington.

Gingrich will need to start by getting the support of at least 200,000 more people….who hand-picked Mitt Romney, instead of the former Speaker.

Victory...After Months Of Pressure...Is Sweet.

Romney put it best perhaps, by saying, “Romney acknowledged the nastiness of the Florida fight in his remarks Tuesday night, telling supporters, “primary contests are not easy, and they’re not supposed to be.”

“A competitive primary does not divide us, it prepares us, and we will win.”
