Watching Joe Biden Is like watching ego in motion.

Joe is always JOE. The Obama campaign pulled him out of travel and campaigning for SIX SOLID DAYS to prep him for this week’s Vice Presidential debate. Did it show?
Perhaps.
There is an old litigator’s strategy known among legal beagles. If you don’t have a good case, no facts to stand on, then INTERRUPT. Continuously.
When your opponent is self-destructing…just get out of the way. Ryan played it perfectly.
Joe Biden interrupted Paul Ryan 88 times in 90 minutes. Do you think David Axelrod suggested that Biden try to throw Paul Ryan off of his game during the first SUPER-NATIONAL debate in his career? Likely.
More importantly, is there any chance that Joe Biden doesn’t OWN the message of this election, and that Paul Ryan does? So what better way to keep Americans from hearing it, than to be disruptive?
The referee of this “Vice Presidential” debate, protected Joe Biden. A reputable foreign correspondent, but never an anchor, ABC’s Martha Raddatz acted like the limelight was hot even for her. She had every opportunity to hold Vice President Biden accountable for his imaginary facts. For his weak remarks on Libya and his fiction about Obamacare and the Catholic Church. But doing so would have taken her off the President’s Christmas Party list. Demanding the truth would have disaffected her bosses at ABC and ABC’s owner DISNEY, which is all-Obama-all-the-time.
The facts are these:
Paul Ryan is an intellectual giant. His opponent…not so much.
Paul Ryan’s job was to NOT MAKE HEADLINES. Deliver the facts, the campaign talking points, and just get out of the way so that Biden could do what he does best: self-destruct.
Joe Biden’s job was to bring some energy to the debate and try to revitalize Democrats who were demoralized by their own President! Unfortunately, Biden has no OFF SWITCH! He jumped into the front seat and took the wheel, and acted like he might drive right off a debate cliff! If you noticed, in the last 10 minutes of the debate, Biden ramped it down. Someone must have caught his eye! Or perhaps someone from the DNC held up a sign on the front row that said, “STOPPP!!!!!!”

Independent women could only be turned off by his arrogance, his rudeness, and inappropriate toothy grins. Especially out of place when the subject was the economic suffering of the American people….
But this was a display that was second nature for a man who has been walking on marble too long, and who has been padding his checking account and his lifestyle for so many decades, that his “passions” pale in comparison to his hunger for money and power.
Authenticiy…is what 2012 voters are looking for. Ryan has it.
Paul Ryan is the SECOND most intelligent man in America today. Mitt Romney is the FIRST. If Ryan had wanted to pick the meat off of Joe Biden’s bones, intellectually he could have done it. The fear on Joe’s face when Ryan led off with the unemployment figures in Joe Biden’s OWN HOMETOWN of Scranton, Pennsylvania was measurable. Scranton had an unemployment rate of 8% in 2008. Today it is 10%.
That was just a softball.
Imagine if Paul Ryan, who sleeps on a cot in his congressional office, had elected to mention that Vice President Biden uses Air Force TWO to make special, and regular trips to Washington from Delaware most weekends, at the taxpayers expense, to play GOLF with the President!
The debate was won by Paul Ryan. He was a gentleman. Joe Biden was not. Paul Ryan told the truth… and Joe Biden couldn’t recognize the truth if he was swimming in it.

Biden’s inappropriate grinning, smiling and smirking were worrisome and exceedingly rude at best. Biden is an old man and a president wanna be. He is also a liar and stretches thee truth!!

I agree, I believe Ryan that debate as clearly as Romney won his debate. Biden nor Obama are gentlemen and depend on the public still believing that Republicans are the problems to everything these two encounter, and they still blame them regardless. They must know we do not buy it anymore and the promises made in 2008 were never even considered once they entered office. These debates were won by the Republicans and they were refreshing to finally see some honesty in the midst of government.
The thing is that Obama thinks he has already won with all the cheating at the poles so they are both communist fools God will not let them take down the land He loves
Fantastic analysis! Very well explained that even the most starnch liberal might understand it. But, they won’t acknowlege it. Paul Ryan did have in his eyes that he wanted to say a lot of things, but he knew to let Biden act like the arse he is. There are more debates to come, hopefully with better moderators.
Biden’s behavior was like that of a beligerant teenager. I commented that I wouldn’t put up with that behavior from my own children, and I’m not about to take it or support it from the Vice President! One of my friend’s who is a mom agreed and said, “If that had been my son up there acting like that I would have jumped on that platform and busted his butt.” Parents are upset with this example from Biden. Military men and women, veterans and retirees like my husband and brothers are upset with his laughing at the lost of American lives and lies about Obama’s support of the troops. Women are disgusted at his behavior to the point that I’ve heard many say, ” If a man treated me like that, or I saw him act like that, I’d have nothing to do with him.” The examples we have seen set by Obama, Biden and others on the left in the administration are not the examples of leadership we want in this country at all! Anyone who does is either a miscreant, a convict, a gangster, or just evil and should be shut down now! In fact, since they say if Romney wins they will leave the country, then we need to make sure Romney wins. As for Radditz, it was obvious she was not impartial, and even cowered after Biden pointed his finger at her and reprimanded her. That whole debate was a leftist sham!

Biden showed his arrogance big time, rudeness, & yes his show off smirks—-NIO Class at all, but that is what Obama & Biden are all about.
I was thoroughly disgusted at the arrogance of Biden. If my husband or sons had acted that way, they would have been given a tongue lashing. To think the man grinned when Ryan was stating the facts about Libya was more than my stomach could handle. Has he no regard for the families of those slain in the biggest cover-up this administration has had this month?
I do hope Romney takes Obama to task on Libya, not to mention, he should bring up Fast and Furious. Lets nail these liberals to their cross this November. Go Romney/Ryan 2012!

Joe Biden showed all of us what is wrong with Washington. Why there is gridlock and nothing gets done. Can you imagine trying to work with someone like that?! What an insufferable jerk. He came across as someone who has been in Washington too long…he is the poster boy for term limits. I bet 95% of us women have known a guy like that in our lives…obnoxious, talks over us, thinks he knows everything, and is dismissive. Whether a co-worker, relative, neighbor…he is that guy that you roll your eyes and sigh when you see him coming.

I read all of these comments and my smile started to widen…not like Joe the Burdens of course. It made my day to see such regard for Ryan and disregard for Martini Joe. All of you are right…it was a crappy display of courtesy towards Ryan. I wished on several occasions someone would have slapped the blank eating grin off Joe the Burdens face.The Liberal party has nothing to run on except Big Bird. Obama went on the campaign trail and gave eight different speeches. Never once mentioned the economy or Libya but instead bashed Romney on Big Bird. What a joke these characters are…we must vote them out!
If were possible to transform Biden’s laughing, his smirks, and imbicilic gestures into words, the result would be the typical shameless ad hominum attacks typical of those on the left who support Obama and who have nothing to show but failure of his presidency.

Loved your comment about who owned the debate that nite and yes what a better way to hopefully keep americans from hearing it than being rude and disruptive.. What a great role model Joe Biden is and oh wonderful geography teacher as well, his comment about Syria.. ” oh that is another country” like we did not already know that! and obviously he was not prepared for that one! Yes, while martha and I share the same name, she obviously does not know what it means.! It is aramaic for ” lady” and she definitely was not that , it biased ties to the Obama were definitely tooo obvious !

I am catholic. I WOULD NEVER WANT TO BE MARRIED OR A CHILD OF Joe Biden. This is my first thought. I would pick Paul Ryan. He is honest to his faith. He is truthfull in explaining all our needs for all of us. Joe overtalks you. You know nothing. I am Joe the loud mouth drunk you want to get away from in a bar. God Bless Paul Ryan all over him by the Holy Spirit. Not the evil one like Joe is surrounded with.
A debate is supposed to be a battle. Both men did that but Joe Biden was louder (as usual). I am an independent voter and thinker and investigate all retoric before I vote. I am not a champion of the Romney/Ryan ticket who want to take away freedom of choice for women, equal pay for equal work and other women’s issues that I find are important.
Great article, Sonja. Joe Biden was rude & obnoxious to say the least. I watched the debate on C-Span so I didn’t have to listen to the liberal commentary & found myself yelling not once but numerous times “Will you just shut-up!!!!” Biden’s constant interruptions, smirks, laughter & condescending facial expressions were all an “act” to deliberately try & throw Paul Ryan off track. Well, in my opinion, it didn’t work! Instead, it made Biden look like a grinning fool. I loved Ryan’s comment to Biden regarding something to the effect that “we all make statements that didn’t come out exactly as we intended”.

Excellent analysis Sonya & to most the comments. When Biden started his smirking, laughing, interrupting and loud comments as well as the misinformation & lies is was saying, I turned it off 30 mins into the debate. I can’t stand that arrogant butt head (being nice)
Paul Ryan was the absolute winner during the debate. He was polite, knew the facts, told the truth and was unshakable in his faith. God bless Paul Ryan. Joe Biden was a total jerk. Did he think he was being cute? I noticed the lies and the smirks and grins as I’m sure everyone else did too. He was a total jerk

Oh yes, let’s determine a winner based on manners. That is super intelligent.
Manners do say something about how we regard other people. It’s clear to me that Obama and Biden don’t have as much regard for the American people as for themselves. That said, the intelligent choice is for the team that will lift America up and offer real hope and motivation to reclaim our country – that would be Romney-Ryan. Paul Ryan did awesome in the debate. Biden spoke better than Obama without a teleprompter, but was a total jerk. Thanks for the great article
