Some Choice! Newt Wins Repubs, But Loses White House
December 14, 2011
A vote for Newt, is a vote for Barack Obama? There’s good news and bad news in the latest polls out today.
Reuters reveals that Newt Gingrich has replaced Rick Perry, then Herman Cain, as the rising star in the GOP. Latest polling data shows that the Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has taken a commanding lead in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, hitting the 40 percent mark for the first time in the campaign, according to an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released on Tuesday.
The devil is in the details however, because while Gingrich is far out-distancing Mitt Romney, 40-23%, the NBC/Wall Street Journal media poll also reveals that Independents and swing voters are very uncomfortable with Gingrich as a nominee. Independents and swing voters customarily decide presidential elections.
In a hypothetical contest with President Barack Obama, Gingrich trails the Democratic incumbent by more than 10 percentage points (40 percent to 51 percent) while Obama leads Romney by 2 percentage points (47 percent to 45 percent).
What these numbers say to women, is that a vote for Gingrich is a vote for Obama. Nothing will change. Republicans won’t be able to take back The White House or build the momentum to take the Senate or possibly even retain the House.
So do we make a “feel good” vote, or try to stop the downward spiral of the U.S. economy? Some choice.

Please, for the love of everything Holy, Dont think that is over by any stretch of the imagination. Im registered as an independent, I would vote for Charlie Sheen over Barack Obama. At least with Sheen as prez, and chose a wiser VP the VP could run things from the background. LOL
Now – On a more serious note. This election really isnt over. Keep your heads up and dont let this article be as discouraging to you as it is to me. All the millions of Paul Bots out there know that BO has to go. So once “Dr.Paul” doesnt win the GOP, then all those independent votes will swing to mainly the GOP candidate.
**I definitely have hope for America to get back on the right track. But the first step for mankind – in this Generation – Is to get Pres. Obama out of our White House!**
I am not surprised by this poll. Newt has too much old, really old baggage. Being between a rock and a hard spot is exactly where conservatives are positioned as of now. Heaven help us!
I believe voting for Gingrich is a big mistake. He flip flops to much and we already have had 4 years of empty promises and flip flop policies. I was ready to vote for Gingrich but not anymore, what once were his policies or I thought so, he is no longer touting. ?? I want a President that is going to help America not topple her, she is already at her knees. I want a President that knows what it is to work and have pride in God, yourself, country and Freedom. I want a President that will work alongside us to get the job done and bring America back to what it once was. I want a President with the right vision to believe that this is possible without tearing us and this country down. I want a President that believes in America, not for what he or she can get out of it by lining their pockets and bank book. One that will not break her down to a starving entity, and a President that does not have a country full of people dependent on the government handouts or that expect that to live. I want a President that will enable the people to work and prosper on their own instead at the hand of the government. I want a President that will enforce the laws as once written instead of amending them to their own whims. I want a President that will stand up for America and be proud of it’s citizens and what the flag stands for.
Ariesdancer: good luck on that one. The man to do that isn’t even a contender.
