Set Your DVR For Sunday News Shows
September 30, 2011

Here’s the schedule for Sunday morning politicians dodging questions, making excuses, doing damage control, re-stating and re-shaping the facts and desperately trying to stay on message!

On NBC, “Meet the Press” has Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, a Democrat; Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, chairman of the Republican Governors Association; and Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.).

On CBS, “Face the Nation” hosts Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), along with Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who opted against a bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

On CNN, “State of the Union” assesses the killing in Yemen of Anwar al-Awlaki, a top Al Qaeda leader, with former CIA Director Michael Hayden and former Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), now director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

In addition, Barbour stops by, as well as former Vice President Dick Cheney with his daughter Liz, who co-authored his new memoir “In My Time.”

On Bloomberg TV’s “Political Capital,” Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was former President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser, also weighs in on the death of al-Awlaki.

TV One’s “Washington Watch” visits with National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling.

And on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers,” Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen, the ranking Democrat on the House Budget Committee, is interviewed by Steven Dennis of Roll Call and Gregory Korte of USA Today.
