For all those deep conservatives who have hung tough with the former Speaker of the House, even when his numbers were disappointing in New Hampshire, and before that, he was left behind in Iowa, tonight must be a stunning victory. One week ago, perhaps a 13% spread might have even been a dream!
Tonight though, South Carolinians sent one message loud and clear: Newt Gingrich speaks for them. Rick Santorum was right behind Gingrich and Romney with about 18%, and Paul at 13%. It’s a wake up call for the Romney campaign. Some pundits tonight are comparing Romney to Al Gore and John Kerry!
What they’re saying…is that Conservatives don’t FEEL Mitt Romney. And they DO FEEL Gingrich. For better, or worse. He’s angry, and so are Conservatives.

Huntsman bites the bitter bullet and not only leaves the presidential race, but endorses Mitt Romney on the way out. Amazing, as Huntsman clearly has spared Romney nothing in the debates. His father, John Huntsman, Sr. has bankrolled his son’s run for president in 2011-2012, but was a big supporter of Mitt Romney in 2008. Did he tell Jon Jr. to get out of the race after his lackluster campaign?

The First Lady wearing $500 tennis shoes to charity events for the poor? Giving the evil eye to former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel? Hosting East Room Halloween Parties fit for Hollywood? The new book out this week about The Obamas is raising eyebrows in the West Wing….and in the EAST WING. They want to serve the poorest of us? They want to live like Oprah.

Ron Paul should feel great about his independent followers and a win in the 20’s. Newt Gingrich has to be aching a bit at 9-10%. Jon Huntsman? Well he hasn’t campaigned anywhere else for six months! He pulled about 16% away (likely) fromNewt Gingrich and Mitt Romney tonight. Rick Santorum? Well, New Hampshire is not that welcome of a territory for him. But 10% at least keeps him on the map. Rick Perry, not competing, but takes 1% .
With 10% of the vote in….Romney is winning big.

“In my own life, I have drawn great strength from my religious practices and, according to the teachings of my faith tradition, I intend to continue to keep in prayer those who are chosen to lead our nation. That said, the litmus for our elected leaders must not be the church they attend but the Constitution they defend.
Respected conservative jurist, Solicitor General, Special Prosecutor, and now President of Baylor University, Ken Starr reminds Republicans to not just talk about the importance of the U.S. constitution, but live it.

The way Barack Obama sees a Democracy, its really a MONARCHY! That’s why President Obama has decided to make a “recess appointment” and place his own Director in his own, newly-created federal agency…the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Richard Cordray,a former Attorney General from Ohio received the recess appointment which should have been approved by the Senate. What’s causing a stir, is that the Senate wasn’t in RECESS!

It was a SQUEAKER! Mitt Romney had to have woken up happy AND relieved this morning, but the real sunshine was pouring in through the windows of Rick Santorum’s room. In a remarkable finish, the man who had no money, no staff, and a borrowed pick-up truck, went nose-to-nose with frontrunner Mitt Romney. Here’s how he did it.

Which horse are you betting on? Everybody loves a frontrunner, and Mitt Romney seems to have that surprising distinction in the faith and values state. But Romney faces not just one, but approximately four different opposition forces. He’s no shoe-in. The first battle of 2012 is measuring up to be a barn-burner.
