California: Legalizing THREE-PARENT Families…Or MORE

California Changing How MANY Parents One Child Can Have Under The Law

You have to love California liberal Democrats.  They never let what’s best for kids…get in their way.

A San Francisco-based state legislator is on his way to rendering TWO-PARENT families, obsolete.  California State Senator Mark Leno believes that in the 21st Century, families shouldn’t be “restricted” by having only “two-parent” families.   Such definitions are apparently out of style,  especially when there are boyfriends to step in, gay partners, or buddies of a spouse.  All of which could soon be legally-defined as “parents” to a child.

How does this do anything but CONFUSE the futures and the best interest of children?

California likes to pioneer such social themes.  The State of California is the home of the most contentious gay marriage debate in the nation.  Legal beagles are counting the days until the U.S. Supreme Court takes up the constitutionality of the Proposition8/Protect Marriage initiative.  In the meantime, the California State Assembly plows forward by trying to legalize the concept of three or even four-parent families.

Blowing the dust off the old model, where Lucy and Ricky, Dick and Mary, Ozzie and Harriet, led their families, new legislation has already passed in California’s State Senate, and is coming to the State Assembly, opening the door to surrogates,

boyfriends, and multi-gay parent homes.

How to mediate custody? Divorce? Common law marriages?  Civil Unions?  Boyfriend/Girlfriend custody? Such “responsibilities” are always viewed as secondary to establishing RIGHTS in the Socialist Republic of California.

Here’s the latest:

San Francisco State Senator Mark Leno has crafted the bill which would allow three or more people who have “acted” as parents, to negotiate on child custody, visitation and child support, and allow judges to split such privileges up among them.

SB 1476 is not meant to expand the definition of who can qualify as a parent, only to eliminate the limit of two per child.

Under current law, a parent can be a man who signs a voluntary

declaration of paternity, for example. It also can be a man who was married and living with a child’s mother, or who took a baby into his home and represented the infant as his own.

Leno’s bill, which has passed the Senate and is now in the Assembly, would apply equally to men or women, and to straight or gay couples.

Examples of three-parent relationships that could be affected by SB 1476 include:

• A family in which a man began dating a woman while she was pregnant, then raised that child with her for seven years. The youth also had a parental relationship with the biological father.

• A same-sex couple who asked a close male friend to help them conceive, then decided that all three would raise the child.

• A divorce in which a woman and her second husband were the legal parents of a child, but the biological father maintained close ties as well.

SB 1476 stemmed from an appellate court case last year involving a child’s biological mother, her same-sex partner, and a man who had an affair with the biological mother and impregnated her while she was separated temporarily from her female lover.”

  1. California reminds me of Sodom and Gormorrah!!   It doesn’t matter what kinds of laws are made by men/government … God will have the finally say! It only takes 1 man and 1 women to create a baby and it should be the same two that raise that child as God intended!

What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah?” is that it was homosexuality. That is how the term “sodomy” came to be used to refer to anal sex between two men, whether consensual or forced. Clearly, homosexuality was part of why God destroyed the two cities. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to perform homosexual gang rape on the two angels (who were disguised as men).

  2. I live in California.  My uncle had a title for CA “The land of Fruits, Flakes, and Nuts” he was right. There are normal people here fighting against all this nonsense but we’re out numbered.  Leno is the same guy who tried to revoke the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints tax free status because the members were a big help in defeating Prop 8.  I guess you could say he’s bitter.  This has got to be one of stupidest things the Legislature  iswasting time on.  One of the worst things we did was letting them become a year round Legislature.  It gives them too much time  to screw things up.
